Note: If you suspect that the name you go by differs from the your name that we have on file, please let us know in your donation confirmation email!

Donation-to-Square Conversion:

Recurring Donation
$100+ - Full photo for each $100 (e.g. $250 = 2 full photos)
$50-99 - Five squares
$25-49 - Four squares
$10-24 - Three squares
$5-9 - Two squares
$4 and below - One square

One-Time Donation
$1000+ - Full photo for each $1000 (e.g. $2500 = 2 full photos)
$500-$999 - Five squares
$100-$499 - Four squares
$50-$99 - Three squares
$25-$49 - Two squares
$24 and below - One square

Rules:

Upon donating, you will be entitled to a certain number of “actions,” an action being either uncovering a portion of your team’s Buggy photo or covering up a portion of the opposing team’s Buggy photo. The number of actions you can make correspond to the amount and type of donation, as detailed above. If you do not specify what action you want to take with your donation, your donation will automatically count towards uncovering your own team’s photo.

Each Buggy photo is covered by 6 squares. Once the entire photo has been revealed, it can no longer be covered up and the team advances onto the next photo. If a donation is made to cover a photo when the opposing team has no photos in the process of uncovering, the action will be held until the next uncovering made by the opposing team. (For example, if we receive a $20 donation from Team A-J to cover up Team K-Z’s photo but the latter only has completely revealed photos which cannot be covered back up, this action will be held until someone from Team K-Z donates to uncover part of the next photo, upon when the action will take effect and promptly re-cover a square.)

The team that has the most uncovered photos at the end of the fundraiser wins!

Dear SPIRIT Racing Systems Alumni and Supporters,

It is with great pride and excitement that we present our Vision for 2022-2023:

Legacy, Unity, Victory.

Let us talk, first, of Legacy—our history teems with it. Legacy is sweeping in our third-ever Raceday. Legacy is 2:06.20. Legacy is the sweat and grit of our current team and our team nearly two decades ago coalescing into a winning buggy that broke our near-quarter century drought and brought home that first-place trophy. Last Raceday, we won three trophies, but we are not sated. We intend to continue the Legacy of SPIRIT Buggy by sweeping on Raceday ‘23, by completing a brand new buggy, and by fostering a new generation of leaders who will go down in SPIRIT history and inspire the next team. We have been preceded by the most hard-working and inspiring of leaders, and our current team will continue to cultivate an environment that encourages people to be their best selves and inspire the next generation of SPIRIT Buggy. Legacy is in our past, in our present, and we intend for it to be in our future, too.

What, then, of Unity? As we all know, SPIRIT Buggy is first and foremost a family. Although SRS comprises many different sectors and people, we want to make sure everyone feels welcomed and has a sense of belonging in our community. This year, we aim to bridge the gap between sectors so that we can work together more cohesively. Additionally, we want to bring our current members and alumni closer together. We believe that learning from our predecessors will not only make us a better team in terms of knowledge, but also make us stronger and more powerful. With these goals, we plan to become stronger and closer as a team and also as a family. Unity through interconnection to strengthen our family; Unity through cohesion to lead us to Victory.

“Victory.” This is the final word in our Vision. Now, Victory is easy to say, and on a surface level, “victory” is quite easy to understand—because “victory,” of course, ultimately means winning… On Raceday. In reality, though, it’s not that simple. Victory is a mindset. A commitment. "Victory” is something we must ingrain in ourselves so that every day when we wake up, our first thought is: what will I do today that guarantees Victory today? Tomorrow? Next week? On Raceday? Because Victory isn’t just about winning that big trophy on Raceday—Victory is also every step we need to take to get to that point. It is our everyday victories—successfully recruiting the people we need, taking full advantage of every day of rolls, achieving and pushing beyond our goal times—each of these everyday victories will be absolutely essential for achieving that ultimate Victory on Raceday.

Legacy, Unity, Victory.—this is our Vision for the year. We feel so privileged to be able to share this with you all and we hope that we can count on all of you to continue your generous, unrivaled support as we speed towards Raceday 2023.

MAKING A PLEDGE DONATION:

Since we often run into situations where we need a quick purchase, especially pertaining to build items, we are offering the option of pledge donations. For us this would mean that you, as a donor, pledge a certain amount of money that we can request for use when we need it throughout the year. For example, if you make a pledge donation in the amount of $600, we may contact you later in the year to make a purchase(s) for us using either parts of the total you pledged, or all of it at once. Out of the $20,000 we aim to raise, we would like $5,000 to be in pledge donations.

1. Email spiritracingsystems.finance@gmail.com with the amount you would like to pledge. Be sure to add any constraints, if applicable.
2. And then pretty much just wait for the students to hit you up with the request for purchase! :)

MAKING A REGULAR DONATION:

Note: These steps are the same as the ones on our Donate page.

1. Go to the CMU Giving page via this link
2. Click on Search All Funds
3. Search for “SPIRIT Buggy Racing Systems” and click on the checkbox
4. Hit Continue
5. If you would like to give a recurring donation, please select the "This is a recurring gift” checkbox and specify the details. (We LOVE Recurring donations!! And you don't have to remember to donate next year!)
6. In small text box, enter dollar amount
7. If you believe that your company will match your donation, consider clicking or checking circle next to “My company will match my gift” and searching for your organization name
8. Click Continue and fill out the rest of your information
