2026 Carnival Day 3: SATURDAY

Happy Saturday! ☀️

It’s a beautiful day for buggy! This is the full racing weekend we’ve had in so long, we didn’t know what to do with ourselves. The racing was eventful, and the alumni turned out in waves. The team was solid, made some awesome split second decisions and really pushed hard. There was a yellow penske, music blaring from the speakers, and general hype throughout the day. They were certainly All in As One! Our team had so many pushers that they had several exhibitions heats and even an alum heat! Tom made sure everyone had kilts to wear while they relived their glory days. Here are the SPIRIT-centric results - see BAA website for more deets

  • Women’s 4th || Spirit A 2:44.33

  • Men’s 6th || Spirit A Reroll 2:20.96

  • All Gender 6th || Spirit A Reroll 2:48.49

  • Design - Maintenance Division || Inviscid

  • T-shirt Design || Spirit

  • Children’s Choice 1st || Kingpin

  • Chair of the Year || Adithi Phadke

  • Monarch of the Hill - Dharan Kwan

The CMBAA student engagement meeting went wonderfully. SRS went ALL IN AS ONE, sharing their mission, vision, challenges, and wins for the year. All other organizations also presented: SPIRIT, National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE - dope chant, TOO HYPE), National Organization of Minority Architecture Students (NOMAS), and the Black Graduate Students Organization (BGSO). We also payed homage to those who have passed this year, Ms. Shernell’s mother CMBAA’s founder Franklin Duck.

The SRS BBQ in the Tepper Welcome Center was a success. The current team and alumnis gathered to celebrate together. The chairs reflected on the year, honored the seniors, and announced the new chairs! We saw ate and then then everyone bounced as fast as possible to see Fetty Wap perform (jk… kinda of)

Also rainbow happened (in fact, is still happening as we post this) and we were excited to welcome the new alumni! A few reminders before we go participate ourselves:

Love and NFJ,
